BACKGROUND

Stephen Leary and Mike Shaughnessy from Alexander’s Mobility Service were referred to us by two of the sales representatives at their company. When we first got in contact with them in October 2020, they were looking to relocate their existing racking system from Whittier to a new facility in Rialto, CA. With their move they were expanding from an 89,000 sq ft. warehouse to a new facility of over 100,000 sq. ft. We entered the bidding process and offered a way to facilitate their expansion and move.

CHALLENGES

1.

Warehouse Expansion

Initially, they were looking to relocate their existing racking system from Whittier to a new facility in Rialto, CA. With their move, they were expanding from an 89,000 sq ft. warehouse to a new facility of over 100,000 sq. ft.

2.

Relocation

The company needed to relocate and set up their existing racking system to their new facility in Rialto. Once we identified what type of racks they had in their warehouse in Whittier, we determined that it would be a very big challenge to get them permitted in Rialto. As part of our bid, we proposed our project management services.

In the process and as part of our bid, we offered to dismantle, load, and ship unneeded used materials from their old facility for credit which would be applied to the new racking system.

Customer Testimonial: Alexander's Mobility Service

The Process

Once we identified what type of racks they had in their warehouse in Whittier, we determined that it would be a very big challenge to get them permitted in Rialto.

In December 2020, the executives at Alexander’s Mobility Service decided to choose us to manage their project. We offered a full team to assist them with the whole project.

“You have a great team. I was surprised by the number of people that I was getting contacted by. I got to know you all working with us as partners. That was really cool.”

Mike Shaughnessy

One of the challenges we came across was getting permits approved. Because of Covid-19, the city was difficult to get a hold of. We needed permits approved before we could begin the installation and Lisa did a great job. Since we were able to get permits and inspections were done on a timely manner, installation was completed fast. Ozzie and Matt from our Install team worked hard to ensure delivery of material and installation was successful.

“We are very happy with outcome of this project. We came in and executed in a very quick time frame. The material had to arrive in 6 weeks and we made sure that happened. Delivery and installation was barely two weeks total. This is a perfect example of how we pulled multiple facets of our team to make it happen.”

As a team, we took on and administer the whole project from start to finish. Last month when we were filming this video, our Install Team was managing the teardown of the old racking in the facility in Whittier, CA.

The Outcome

We are so happy that Alexander’s Mobility Service trusted us with their project and glad that they are pleased with the outcome.

We hope to work with them again in the future. As we promise, we get it done right!
