Wire mesh decking acts as a component to a pallet racking system, which consists of upright frames supported by cross beams. As an optional accessory, wire decking helps to maximize storage space and support between the cross beams. This type of decking is a self-cleaning, easy to install support for your pallet rack system. Its wire mesh design provides strong support capable of storing drums, cartons, and pallets of various sizes.
Benefits of Wire Mesh Decking
- Easy Installation
- Installing wire decking is a simple one-step process, as the product just needs to be dropped into place on the pallet rack beams.
- Safety Features
- As a safer alternative to wood decking, wire decking protects employees and products by enhancing fire sprinkler performance and providing ventilation. The design provides maximum support and won’t allow anything to fall through.
- Practicality
- The wire mesh allows for more light to come through, creating a more visible workspace. The mesh also allows for pallets and cartons of any size to fit on the deck.
What kind of wire mesh decking is right for me?
Step Style (Standard Decking)
Step style wire decking works exclusively with a step load beam, designed with cross support accommodating 1 ½” or 1 5/8” beams. This type of decking is stronger and provides the most support for your load.
Flared Style
Flared style decking flares out on the ends and lays on top the beam. Known as the universal wire-based decking, flared style decking is most commonly utilized on box beams and structural beams, and can fit most other styles.
